Ephemeral Artifacts: Scarborough

Ephemeral Artifacts is a repertoire work of ĀNANDAṀ, originally created in 2017. It exists in multiple variations with diverse casts of artists. Ephemeral Artifacts: Scarborough examines dancing as a process of transmitting embodied knowledge through a constant return to the rigour and structure of practice. Confronting ideas of ephemerality within live performance, this work examines the body as a paradoxical convergence that holds both the historical and the contemporary. Spanning a continuous duration of 12 hours, it is held within a sonic and sculptural installation. Ephemeral Artifacts: Scarborough featured dance artists whose practices were based and nurtured in Scarborough, honouring the dancing bodies and communities of this unique urban centre.
