Anandam creates live performances that explore the body as a curious and shifting filter for diverse viewpoints and practices. Performances are created from dissonant sources in often alternative spaces or re-visioned traditional ones, collaboration among artists is post disciplinary and the aesthetic interest is polyculutral.
Our work is specifically fascinated by how we are, or, are not present together through an exploration of different kinds of knowingness and awareness’s in performance. To us, this this present-ness is energetic, transmissive, shamanistic, philosophic, embodied, physical, simple and clear. Through our works this primary interest takes many forms of large and small, public and private but has at its root, and as a priority, an interest in intimacy, the body, attention and altered experiences of time and space.
