Precipice
ĀNANDAṀ’s first work created in residence at the Bata Shoe Museum exploring Raymond Moriyama’s elegant architecture and the possibilities of staging choreographic actions occurring in multiple spaces, requiring an audience to be autonomous with the gaze while occupying a permeable and immersive space with dancers.
“It seems as if the fragmented structure of Leary's work arose out of a similar impetus, exploring consonant ideas on love, the choreographed figures that Barthes names: s'abimer, cacher, etreinte, ravissement, allowing the architecture of the museum to function as the alphabet that structures and disrupts their narrative flow.”
