Jharu

Jharu examines the Seraikella and Mayurbhanj chhau dance ufflie (vocabulary movement) of sweeping. Within the chhau dance language the daily activities and labour, predominantly of women, are rendered abstractly through the legs and feet in ways that chart expanding circles around the body's axis resulting in directional and level transitions through space.
