Anandam creates image based dance theatre with a visceral physicality and experimental daring. Combining the ancient with the innovative, we integrate various traditional and contemporary movement forms into our performances to create contemporary work that draws from a diverse pallet that is globally informed and uniquely inspired.

The body and its expressive potential is the heart of our inquiry. How the body creates image, movement and its relationship to space and gravity fuels our questioning. Our work views the body as a conduit and meeting place for explorations that mine liminal worlds to unite internal and external spaces through movement and image.

We are strongly dedicated to the creation of new works that cross boundaries and disciplines in a search for new ways to tell stories that are driven by physicality and image.  We believe the theatre to be a sacred space of communion and transformation between the audience and the artists and remain profoundly committed to creating works that are powerful expressions of hope.
