
Collective Space
Anandam Dancetheatre’s rehearsal and performance home in Toronto is at the Collective Space studio located at 221 Sterling Road unit 5. It is a 2000 sq foot space, with a 800 sq foot marley dance floor, multiple rigging points, kitchen facilities, dressing room, mezzanine warm up studio and basic sound/lighting capacities.
Artistic Director Brandy Leary is a founder and Co Director of this initiative, developed collaboratively with Co Directors Natalie Fullerton and Lara Ebata. Responding to new models of horizntal goveranace and resource sharing Collective Space is home to many community ard art activities ranging from circus, contemporary dance, experiemental music, film, contemporary and social circus, female wrestling, theatre and more. Anandam regularly rehearses here and holds weekly open classes, presenting series, intimate performance evenings as well as offering the space to the performance community at reduced rental rates.
Rental rate for rehearsals $17 per hour
Rental rate for performances/events/workshops/fundraisers: $27 per hour

Location: Collective Space is on the subway line, totally accessible but tucked away enough to feel like a bit of a secret. From the Lansdowne subway walk west on the south side of Bloor, under the bridge. Take your 2nd left on Ruttan, next left on Merchant Laneand then 1st right along the warehouse building. We are at the south east end. The door has an awning that says Raw Space
